5th Grade Animations

By Mr. Lane, 16 December, 2009, No Comment

The fifth grade students have started learning about stop-motion animation.  We discussed how stop-motion animation is simply stringing together a set of images to make it appear that objects are moving.  We tried to animate objects in ways that are not normal.  We use a digital camera and a program called istopmotion to build our animations. We will be furthering this idea after our holiday break and making more animations and experimenting with different animation techniques so check back often!

Mr. Lane is far behind on updates!

By Mr. Lane, 10 November, 2009, No Comment

The first update of the new school year. Geez it has taken me a while to get any updates on here but I have plenty of pictures and can’t wait to share them so check back soon.

This post is about the work the 4th and fifth grades did similar to the work of Robert Delaunay. We practiced the use of compasses to make our circles and then observed the colors he used to add more interest. Check them out!
